Updates New (Recent Modifications)


  • With everyone's request, converted the web site to a device friendly one  so we all  will be able to view the site in PC, laptop, mobile and other devices.
  • We converted all the videos from the old technology (Adobe Flash),  so without downloading the flash plugin, we will be able to watch  videos displayed in the site.
  • We rearranged the videos under under different sub categories as Documentaries & Travelogues, Oral History, Symposiums and Events & Information.
  • In the Events & Information section under Video Gallery, included video about our heritage Building and the details are given in both Malayalam as well as in English as separate videos.   Ammathampuran Kovilakam is the heritage building in Tripunithura where the matrilineal Cochin Royal Family made their first home.  It is over 200 years old, and is situated close to the Tripunithura Poornathreyesa Temple, and the Kaliiotta Palace built during the Dutch period.   From this audio-visual presentation, one gets a glimpse of the private ritualistic and traditional life style of the family that continues to this day. The heritage structure needs protection, maintenance and care from family members on an urgent footing

  • Symposium 2002: On the last 5 Rajas..1932 to 1948 and beyond . The panelists, Ravi Achan on Chowara Thampuran, Padmavathy Thampuran on Midukkan Thampuran, Ikkavutty Thampuran on Kunjappan thampuran, Chandravali Thampuran on aikya Keralam Thampuran and Vrinda Thampuran on Pareekshith.  Oral history narratives at its best.
  • The Cochin Royal Family Historical Society held annual seminars on various periods of Cochin History at the Kalikotta Palace, Tripunithura . The seminar held in 2003, discussed the Reign of Rama Varma, the Abdicated Highness.  Click here for video of seminar 2003, part 1.
  • Also panel discussions with much participation.  Girija thampuran (Deepthi), Sharada Thampuran, Kochammini Thampuran, Mrinalini Thampuran, and Kavammani Thampuran on Women's education and employment ; Raman namboodiri, KCP Anujan Namboodiripad, Elamana Hari, Dr. Grover, Kochu Cheria Unni Raja; and others.  A young Vijay Kerala Varma talks about the very first web site on Cochin Royal Family History started by him.  He was a pioneer.
