Alathur Narayanan Namboodiripad gave an interesting account on his marriage with Ikkavu Thampuran in 1933. The difference was that Alathur Namboodiripad had exposure to a formal education and he was given a job at the Bank by Midukkan Thampuran, who was the Elaya Raja then, in the very first week of his arrival in Tripunithura. He retired as a Bank Manager after 35 years of service and has enjoyed an exceedingly long and blissful life.
