Short Film - Ekameva adwitiyam. This is  ekam + eva + advitheeyam. Advaita or Dwaita?, asks the famous Carnatic Song. The Cochin Royal Family were ardent followers of the Advaita Philosophy of the Namboodiris, who were devotees of Lord Shiva. The two nephews of Shakthan Thampuran had a change of heart and became followers of the Sodaya Math, who followed the Dwaita Philosophy and were devotees of Lord Vishnu. When Shakthan Thampuran came to know about this, he came to Tripunithura and asked the Math Swamiyar to leave the State and to add insult to injury, tried to smear him with 'Bhasmam' ( sacred ash ), which is a symbol of Lord Shiva. The Movie tries to convey the authoritarian side of Shakthan Thampuran : his diplomatic skills in giving equal attention to the followers of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and the devotees of various Hindu Goddesses, and his steadfast belief in the Advaita Philosophy, which says that the 'Aatma' and the 'Param Aatma' are one, which all boils down to mean that the Universe is One. The Dwaita Philosophy sees Duality, where the individual worships a form of God, as God is seen as a real eternal entity, that governs and controls the Universe. Today, in Hinduism, the Shaivite and Vaishnavite disputes are not particularly found to be relevant.
